(Mission, Texas)-In District 16-5A DII, the Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots (4-2, 1-1) defeated PSJA Southwest (1-6, 1-1) on Friday night 35-7 to remain one game behind first place. Mission Patriots QB Vince Abrego had a balanced night completing 12-of-17 passes for 165 yards and one touchdown pass. The junior QB also rushed four times for 31 yards and one TD. Patriots WR Obed Marin hauled in four catches for 94-yards and one score. With the win, the Pats will play at Sharyland (3-4, 2-0) next Friday night with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
