(Lyford, Texas)-The Lyford Bulldogs (1-0) had a plan in the second half after trailing Port Isabel 17-7. Bulldogs head coach Jerry Jauregui led his team to a 36-29 comeback win over the Port Isabel Tarpons (0-1) on Thursday night by forcing the Tarpons to numerous of turnovers in the second half. Trailing 29-23, the Tarpons scored to tie the game late in the fourth quarter, a missed extra point kept the game at 29-29. The Tarpons had another opportunity late in the fourth, but the Bulldogs defense forced another turnover. That turnover led to Lyford’s game-winning score. “We were down two possessions in the first half but we came out fighting in the second half.
