(Mission, Texas)-The Edinburg Vela Lady Sabercats (29-5, 15-2) defeated Sharyland Pioneer (24-10, 15-2) 46-28 to capture a share of the District 31-5A Girls Basketball title on Friday night at Pioneer High School. From the get go, the Lady Sabercats controlled the tempo of the game while grabbing 22 rebounds, keeping the Lady Diamondbacks off balance throughout the night. “This was a big win for our program tonight,” said Lady Sabercats head basketball coach, Lottie Zarate.
