(Edinburg, Texas)-On Tuesday night, High School Sports Magazine’s Top-ranked Edinburg Lady Bobcats (32-2, 8-0) kept its 17 game win-streak alive by defeating La Joya (9-27, 3-5). The Lady Bobcats will now meet cross-town rivals, Edinburg North (15-16), 3-4) on Friday night. The win clinches the outright District 31-6A title for the Lady Bobcats with two games left to play. Head Coach J.D. Salinas watched his team take a 53-15 lead at the half behind the scoring of senior Emily Carranco, as she sunk three three-pointers to go along with her first half scoring of 17-points. Senior Madison Martinez added three more baskets from downtown and she scored 16 at the half. Kimora Fagan added another 13 points. The last time the Lady Bobcats lost was agains Converse Judson (26-6, 7-1) on December 1st 56-53 in tournament play.
