(Edinburg, Texas)-On Friday night, it was the Edinburg Vela Sabercats (2-0) running past the Edinburg Bobcats (1-1) 55-13 at Richard Flores Stadium. The Sabercats rushed 55 times throughout the night for 484 yards and seven touchdowns while passing for 81 yards on 18 attempts and one score. Three junior Sabercats eclipsed the 100-yard rushing barrier. RB Braden Luedeker had eleven carries for 105 yards while Jamal Polley scored four touchdowns, rushing for 175 yards on 16 carries. Dimas DeLeon added two more rushing scores with 117 yards on the ground. In two games, the Sabercats have averaged 365 yards on the ground and 133 yards passing. The Bobcats were held to 202 total yards. Sabercats head coach John Campbell will lead his team next week against the Weslaco East Wildcats at Bobby Lackey Stadium on Thursday night. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
