(Santa Maria, Texas)-Santa Maria High School head football coach Israel Gracia ran along side his son Esiah, who caught a pass from quarterback Chris Ibarra for a 93-yard touchdown, clinching his fists down the sidelines in the first half as the Cougars went on to defeat the Monte Alto Bluedevils 47-21 on Friday night at the newly renovated Santa Maria Cougar Stadium in the Blue Diamond Realty Group Game of the Week. “Playing at home for the first time after two seasons is a great feeling,” said Gracia. “New lights, new stadium turf, new stands, new press box, and then this win, this feels great.”

Both Santa Maria HS standouts played a great game on Friday night. Ibarra played both ways on offense and defense. He passed for 132 yards and rushed for another 131 yards, scoring two touchdowns. He added his third score of the night with a beautiful 99-yard interception pick-six. Gracia added another 111 yards receiving and 71-yards rushing. The Cougars torched the BlueDevils for 353 total yards.
