(La Joya, Texas)-On Tuesday night, the La Joya (17-14, 9-6) Lady Coyotes defeated Edinburg Economedes (11-17, 5-11) 64-29 to advance to the 2022 University Interscholastic League State 6A Bi-District Basketball Championships next week.
The La Joya Lady Coyotes tipped off it’s season with a loss to Laredo Nixon followed by three straight non-district wins over Los Fresnos, Mercedes, and Brownsville Hanna. The Lady Coyotes then went 1-6 through the end of November.
The Lady Coyotes’ 6A State title chase begins next week as they will play District 32-6A Co-Champions Weslaco or Harlingen. The UIL State Final Four Tournament begins March 3-5th at the Alamodome in San Antonio. (HSSMImages/Ruiz)
