(Pharr, Texas)-On Tuesday night, the PSJA North Raiders (17-15, 8-6) kept its playoff hopes alive by easily defeating the Mission Eagles 95-50 in District 31-6A. With the win, the Raiders will play High School Sports Magazine’s No.1 ranked team, Edinburg Vela (27-1, 13-1) on Friday night. The Raiders are tied for fourth place with the Edinburg Bobcats (17-15, 8-6), 56-37 winners over PSJA. The Raiders jumped out to an early first period lead 26-13, frustrating the Eagles on the boards, as the Raiders were much more athletic and proven against the smaller, Eagles team. PSJA North Gianni Beltran (6’3 190lbs) led all scorers with 33 points followed by Juan Torres (20 points), senior Adrian Stewart added another 15 points while freshmen Nathaniel De La Garza scored 11 points with three assists and three rebounds.
