(Falfurrias, Texas)-The 31-5A Co-Champions, Edinburg Vela Lady Sabercats (32-5) eliminated fourth place 29-5A Gregory-Portland (25-11) 58-47 in the Class 5A Girls Basketball Area Championships at Falfurrias High School. The win propels the Lady Sabercats to the regional-quarterfinals against 29-5A Champions, Flour Bluff Lady Hornets. The Lady Sabercats took a 14-10 lead after the first quarter and led 22-17 at the half. In the second half, Lady Sabercats head coach Lottie Zarate made sure her team continued its aggressive defense on the Lady Wildcats holding GP to only 30 total points. Lady Sabercats JaNai Coleman led all scorers with 27 points
