(Falfurrias, Texas)-The High School Sports Magazine’s Top-Ranked 31-6A Edinburg Lady Bobcats (36-2) knocked off 29-6A San Antonio Sotomayor 67-52 in the University Interscholastic League’s Class 6A Area Championships played at Falfurrias High School on Friday night. With the win, the Lady Bobcats will meet 29-6A San Antonio Harlan (20-11), winners over Weslaco 59-56 this week on Monday in the 6A Regional Quarterfinals. The winner will play 28-6A SA Clark (31-2) or 27-6A Cibolo Steele (29-8) next weekend in the Sweet 16. Both teams came out to a quick start with the Lady Wildcats ending the first period trailing Edinburg 16-15. The second and third periods proved to be costly as the Lady Bobcats outscored the Lady Wildcats 31-18.
