(Rio Grande City, Tx)-The Rio Grande City Rattlers started off the season with  a 3-1 record with wins over Roma (43-27), followed by a loss to Pioneer (27-40) and two wins over La Joya (48-7), and LJ Juarez-Lincoln (22-0). The remainder of the season was not what third-year head coach Jesus Lozano expected, six straight losses to end the season at 3-7, missing the playoffs.

The Rattlers are expected to mix-up their Slot-T offense and add a passing game that will delight fans and could be a threat to opponents. “We are going to open it up on offense and we will surprise our opponents,” says Lozano. With only 20 lettermen returning, the Rattlers will enjoy nine returing on offense and six on defense. Paul Bazan (5’11 175lbs) is expected to take over at quarterback this season.
