(McAllen, Texas)-The 31-5A runner-up, McAllen Memorial Mustangs (27-6) are headed to the UIL Boys Basketball 5A Area Championships after defeating 32-5A Brownsville Veterans 60-48 in the first round of the playoffs. The Mustangs will play the winner of 30-5A Laredo Nixon or 29-5A Victoria West this weekend. The Mustangs are 9-1 in their last ten games.
