Lady Warriors Advances!
(Falfurrias, Texas)-The 31-5A runner-up McAllen Nikki Rowe Lady Warriors (25-10) defeated 30-5A champions, Laredo Cigarroa (26-11) on Friday at Falfurrias Junior High in the University Interscholastic League Class 5A Area Championships 53-26. With the win, the Lady Warriors will meet Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial (28-9) in the 5A regional quarterfinals.
The Lady Warriors were led by seniors Yulissa Yebra (15-points) and Evelyn Valero (20-points game high) as they advance to the third for the first time since 2012. “This is a great win for our program,” said Rowe head coach, Alex Robles. (HSSMImages/Ruiz)
