(McAllwn, Texas)-At McAllen Veterans Memorial Stadium, Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial RB Jayden Castenada took off like a jet and exploded on a 90-yard touchdown run to end McAllen’s (7-6) hopes of a UIL State 5A DI Quarterfinal appearance, instead the Eagles (14-5A DI) will play host to PSJA North (12-0) on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at Buccaneers Stadium In Corpus Christi. The Eagles ended the McAllen Bulldogs season winning 49-14.

The McAllen Bulldogs trailed CC Veterans 14-7 but the Eagles opened it up with QB Elijah Durrette finding Issac Rojas on a a 24-yard pass. Durrette added another touchdown pass to WR Christian Sabsook to make it 14-7.

In the third quarter, wet and cold, the Eagles were hot as they scored on a three-play, 98-yard drive that ended with a 66-yard touchdown run from RB Luke Moya to make it 28-14.

Moya finished with 12 carries for 160 yards and two touchdowns and Castaneda added 17 carries for 146 yards and two scores.

Durrette threw for 198 yards and two scores as the Veterans Memorial. Total offense 519 yards for the Eagles.
