(Harlingen, Texas)-Senior Linebacker, Levi Ince recovered a fumble, sacked the Harlingen quarterback, had more than 10 tackles, played tight-end, and was part of the kickoff team as the Harlingen South Hawks defeated Harlingen 28-21 in Bird Bowl 2021 on Saturday afternoon. Playing in 100 degree weather, Ince weathered the intense heat and gunned his thighs due to cramps, but continued his play to defeat the Cardinals. He is the High School Sports Magazine’s Top Performer of Week Six.

For the second week in a row, quarterback Chase Campbell passed for four touchdowns as he led his Edinburg Sabercats (6-0, 4-0) to a 48-7 win over Edinburg. He now has 817 passing yards with 11 touchdowns.

It was homecoming night as Edinburg Economedes (2-4, 1-3) Jaguars quarterback MJ Barrientos rushed for two touchdowns as he led his team to its first District 31-6A win over La Joya Juarez Lincoln 19-0 on Thursday night.

San Benito sophomore, Fabian Garcia rushed for 190 yards on 17 carries and scored two touchdowns as the Greyhounds defeated Brownsville Hanna 49-21 in District 32-6A. The Greyhounds are 5-0, 2-0 for the season. Last week, Gardiel rushed for 255 yards on 21 carries and three more touchdown runs as they defeated Los Fresnos 38-7.
