(Mercedes, Texas)-As time was expiring in the first half, La Feria QB Andruw Rivera was looking down field to score, instead his pass went right into the hands of Mercedes sophomore DB Diego Bravo and he returned the interception 105-yards to put the Tigers up 21-7 at the half, with the second half ending the Lions hopes (1-3) of a possible comeback, losing 42-7. “That’s the spark we were looking for tonight,” said Tigers head coach, Roger ADAME. The Tigers will play host to the Sharyland Rattlers (2-2) next Friday while the La Feria Lions will travel to play the Alice Coyotes (2-2) in their District 16-4A Division I opener. The Lions were held to 254 yards on offense as the Tigers piled up 518 yards, including 407 rushing yards. See 105-yard Pick-Six by Bravo.
