(McAllen, Texas)-The District 32-6A Champions, Harlingen Lady Cardinals (27-6) easily defeated 31-6A Edinburg North on Tuesday night and will play 29-6A runner-ups, San Antonio Warren (27-17), winners over 30-6A Laredo United South (27-25, 25-12, 17-25, 23-25, 15-9) in a thrilling five-set win. Both winners will advance to the UIL State 6A Area Volleyball Championships this weekend.
In more 6A games, the 31-6A PSJA Lady Bears (26-12) swept Harlingen South in three sets (26-24, 25-21, 25-14) and will play SA Harlandale (27-15) from District 29-6A. The Los Fresnos Lady Falcons will also be advancing to the State 6A Area Championships with their 25-22, 18-25, 25-15, 25-22 win over Edinburg High School to end their season. The Lady Falcons (24-14) will meet Laredo United (31-4) in the second round while Brownsville Rivera (33-10) won 3-1 against Edinburg Vela to meet San Antonio O’Connor (31-11) in the area playoffs.
