Harlingen South Falls to Melissa

(Austin, Texas)-At Red and Charline McCombs field in Austin, Texas, Harlingen South (36-5) ends season with loss to the Melissa HS (38-2-1) Lady Cardinals 8-0 in the UIL State 5A Softball Championship game this afternoon. “It’s been an amazing season. I thank GOD for this moment,” said Joe Rios, Harlingen South head coach.
The Lady Hawks watched the Lady Cards hit two homeruns and forced Harlingen South to three errors throughout the game. “They were a tough team,” added Rios.
On the mound, South junior, Amira Rodriguez struggled early on by giving up three early runs and she was replaced by Lexi Sandoval. The Cards carded her too with two homeruns that gave the Lady Cards their outright victory. “I’m just so proud of these players,” says Melissa HS head coach, Cassie Crabtree.
