(Arlington, Texas)-Welcome to Jerry’s World Port Neches-Groves! The District 9-5A DII Indians are now UIL State 5A Division II Champions. After converting a field goal by Gio Oceguera, kicker from Port Neches-Groves HS (four FG) to trail 17-12 with less than five minutes to play, the Indians recovered an onside kick by Oceguera. The Indians called on sophomore quarterback Connor Bailey to lead his team again with hopes of making a comeback. Several plays later, the Indians were in the red zone. After a dropped pass in the endzone, Bailey fooled the Golden Bears from five yards out, as he scored to give the Indians 20-17 win over the defending state champions, Dallas South Oak Cliff capture their fourth state football title.
