(Pharr, Texas)-On Saturday, the PSJA Lady Bears (35-5, 9-0) swept its series with the Mission HS Lady Eagles 25-12, 25-19, 25-19 in three sets to win the outright 31-6A District title at PSJA Gymnasium. “I’m so proud of team. This is amazing,” said head coach Caroline Cuellar. The Lady Bears will end its season at Edinburg on Tuesday night before entering the State 6A Volleyball playoffs next week.
Lady Bears stats leaders Mia Dominguez (282 Kills) with Julianna Guajardo (398 kills) and Karina Lucio (34 Blocks) all proved to be unstoppable against the Lady Eagles (14-11, 3-5). Both teams are headed to the state playoffs.
The PSJA Lady Bears are 19-0 in District 31-6A under head coach Cuellar and have won back-to-back district titles, bi-district titles, and two area finalists.
