(Mission, Texas)-At Tom Landry Hall of Fame Stadium, the Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots (4-4, 2-1) kept its playoff hopes alive by defeating two-time defending champions, Sharyland HS (3-5, 0-3) 30-8 on Friday night. With the win, the Patriots will travel to play PSJA Memorial (7-1, 2-1) on Friday for the outright second place spot.

It was all Patriots defense as they sacked Sharyland QB Bo Krell seven times with 20 hurries. In total, the Patriots had 36 solo tackles. For Mission Veterans, senior quarterback Braden Luedeker passed for 270 yards and four touchdowns. He now has 2,411 passing for the season with 29 TDs with 850 yards rushing. He rushed for 83 yards on eight carries against the Rattlers. In the first half, WR Vince Abrego caught a touchdown pass from Luedeker to put the Pats up 23-0 at the half.
