(Weslaco, Texas)-At Bobby Lackey Stadium, the Weslaco Panthers (2-0) picked up its second win of the season as they defeated Harlingen South (0-2) 24-6 on Thursday night. Panthers quarterback Andres Sepulveda threw two touchdowns and ran for another, but it was the Purple and White defense that had a big night by limiting the Hawks to 133 total yards. “We are playing one game at a time,” says Panther head coach, Roy Stroman. The Hawks were just as feisty on defense too. They held the Panthers to a 9-6 score but Sepulveda fund WR Ayden Moralez for a 15-yard TD to take a 17-6 at the half. The Hawks defense held the Panthers to 232 total yards. The Panthers will now play host to the Edinburg (0-2) Bobcats next Friday night while the Hawks will host Brownsville Hanna (0-1) next Friday night. (HSSMImages/DeLeon)
