(Pharr, Texas)-PSJA HS head football coach, Lupe Rodriguez is excited about 2023. After making the playoffs last season, the Bears are on full throttle to make another playoff run this season. What’s even better, HSSM picks the Bears to win it all in District 31-6A.
The Bears returns Jaime Lopez at quarterback, who brings plenty of experience on Friday nights. He passed for 2,737 yards with 23 touchdowns, including 16 interceptions. “We need to elimnate turnovers this season,” says Rodriguez. “That will be the key.”
Lopez will be exciting to watch along with his nucleus of experienced receivers and linemen. Defensively, the Bears will be much improved.
