(Mission, Texas)-In the lower UIL 5A Region IV Girls Soccer bracket, the Gregory Portland Lady Wildcats powered its way past 30-5A Mission Veterans 4-1 in the University Interscholastic League 5A Bi-District playoffs on Thursday night at Tom Landry Stadium. The win puts the 29-5A Lady Wildcats in the area playoffs against 31-5A Edinburg Vela or 32-5A Brownsville Veterans next week.
In the upper brackets, Harlingen South lost to McAllen Nikki Rowe 2-1, while 30-5A Laredo Nixon lost a heart-breaker to 29-5A Flour Bluff 4-3. Rowe and Flour Bluff will meet in the area playoffs next week. Victoria West defeated Laredo Martin 2-1 and will meet the winner between McAllen Memorial or Brownsville Porter.
