(Corpus Christi, Texas)-The Weslaco Panthers (8-4) watched their season come to an end as San Antonio Harlan (10-2) eliminated the purple and white 49-3 in the Class 6A Division II Area Championships at Buccaneers Stadium this afternoon.
Despite the cold and rainy weather conditions, Panther head football coach Roy Stroman talked to his team after the game and “praised” them for their efforts and reached out by saying, “I love you guys.”
With the loss, it was still a banner season for the Panthers as they posted an overall record of 8-4 after missing the playoffs in 2021. The Panthers posted wins over Mercedes, Harlingen South, Edinburg, and Sharyland (all playoff teams) to start the season at 4-0. San Antonio Harlan will play Vandegrift in the regional finals this weekend.
