(Pharr, Texas)-Both head coaches from PSJA North (12-0) and Brownsville Veterans Memorial (10-2) compliment each other on their coaching abilities as they will lead their teams in the Class 5A Division I Regional Championships on Friday at 6:00 p.m. in Brownsville at Sams Stadium in the Blue Diamond Realty Group Game of the Week. The winner will get an automatic bid to the UIL State 5A DI Quarterfinals and will play Corpus Christi Veterans or McAllen HS. “This is a great opportunity for our team,” says PSJA North head coach, Marcus Kaufmann. “We’re not done yet.”
The Raiders will be led by junior quarterback Ale Aparicio (252 yards rushing 4 TDs in win over CC Miller) while the Chargers will be looking at FB Bryan Chavez (9Tds 452 yards rushing in win over Victoria West).
If Valley football fans expect to witness probably, one of the best high school football match-ups ever, fans will have to get their tickets to watch this game go down to the last second. Enough said.
