(Brownsville, Texas)-The Brownsville Porter Cowboys (2-0) picked up its second win of the season by defeating PSJA Memorial (1-1) 34-13 on Thursday night in the High School Sports Magazine’s Featured Game of the Week at Sams Stadium. ”We knew it was going to be a tough game. Our players executed in the second half,” says sixth year, Carlos Uresti, Porter Head Coach. “After the game, I praised our team. We overcame adversity with confidence and did not let things snowball on us.”
Porter QB Alejandro Stevens opened the game with a 37-yard touchdown run to put the Cowboys up 6-0. In the second half, Porter scored on a 23-yard touchdown to make it 20-13 and never looked back. ”I’m proud of our team overall and now its time to play Donna North,” added Uresti. The Cowboys will be on the road next Friday night at Bennie La Prade Stadium.
