(Edinburg, Texas)-With temperatures dropping below the 40s on Friday night, this did not stop the red-hot Edinburg Vela Lady Sabercats as they defeated Edinburg HS 48-34 to remain undefeated at 11-0 and improved to 28-2 with a near capacity crowd at Edinburg High School. The Lady Bobcats dropped to second place with a 10-2 record and 25-8 for the season.
The Lady Bobcats played excellent defense throughout the first half as they trailed 24-17, down by seven points. In the second half, Emma Lucio lit the boards for the Lady Sabercats as she finished with a game-high of 18 points for the night.
The Sabercats will now play on Tuesday at home against PSJA while the Lady Bobcats will travel to play PSJA North. (HSSMImages/Flores)
