(Mission, Texas)-The Sharyland Rattlers (5-2, 4-1) took advantage of early Sharyland Pioneer (4-3, 3-2) miscues as they raced past the Diamondbacks 38-10 at Richard Thompson Stadium on Saturday afternoon in a District 16-5A Division II showdown. With the win, the Rattlers moves into a second place tie with Mercedes, having the playoff seeding advantage over the Tigers, while the D’Backs finds themselves in trouble in fourth place alone with Edcouch-Elsa (3-3, 3-5) and Roma (2-3, 3-4) both still in the hunt for a playoff spot. The Rattlers will meet PSJA Memorial this Friday while Pioneer plays winless PSJA Southwest at home this Friday night. Rattlers head football coach Craig Krell was proud of his team’s performance. They have remaining games against PSJA Memorial, Valley View, and Roma. Pictured is Sharyland head coach Craig Krell, Alan Guerrero, and Sharyland’s defense making a tackle.
