(Edinburg, Texas)- “We still have to do a better job,” said Edinburg first-year head football coach, Rene Guzman after defeating the La Joya Juarez-Lincoln Huskies at Richard Flores Stadium on Thursday night in the High School Sports Magazine’s Featured Game of the Week. “We need to do better, but, we will enjoy this win tonight and get to work tomorrow. We are 1-0 in District 31-6A,” said a drenched, soaked, Bobcat head coach.

The Bobcat players splashed head football coach, Rene Guzman with plenty of water as time expired, as they defeated the Huskies 48-0. The Bobcats (1-2, 1-0) will play Edinburg Economedes next Friday night in another key match-up. Guzman talked about losing their first two games to McAllen (14-6) and Brownsville Rivera (26-24), but adds, “we were learning and now, we are beginning to believe.”
