District 32-6AAAAAA: Weslaco Panthers Downs Donna Chiefs in Opener

(Donna, Texas)-At Bennie La Prade Stadium on Thursday night, the Weslaco Panthers (3-0, 1-0) defeated Donna North 42-3 (1-2, 0-1) in District 32-6A to move into first place. The Panthers proved to be too much for the Chiefs as they out-gained the Donna North Chiefs with 419 yards of total offense. The Panthers rotated two QBs, Meliton Rodriguez and lefty, Ethan Gallegos. Panther RB Elian Rodriguez broke loose on two touchdown runs of 53 and 28 yards as the Panther defense forced the Chiefs to fumble twice early on. The Panthers will play at Bobby Lackey Stadium next Friday at 7:00 p.m. against Brownsville Rivera (2-1, 0-0) while Donna North will travel to play Los Fresnos in another District 32-6A match up.
