(Pharr, Texas)-The PSJA Bears will play a complete District 31-6A schedule in 2021 in the newly, realigned, nine-team district consisting of Edinburg, Edinburg Vela, Edinburg North, Edinburg Economedes, La Joya, La Joya Juarez-Lincoln, Mission, and cross-town rivals, PSJA North.
The Bears will open their season at home against the 16-5A DII, Sharyland on Thursday night at Richard R. Thompson Stadium on August 26th. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
“We are playing a tough non-district schedule in 2021. Staying healthy will be the key to our success,” says fifth-year head football coach, Lupe Rodriguez. Returning QB Jaime Lopez (963 yards passing 9 TDs) will lead the offense with just three returning starters.
