(Arlington, Texas)-Under the University Interscholastic League “Mercy Rule”, Gordon High School (15-0) captured the Class 1A Division I State Football Championship title after defeating Whiteface (14-1) 70-24 at AT&T Stadium. The game was called with 9:45 left midway through the third quarter. Gordon QB Stryker Reed broke loose for 45-yards and a score to end the game. He passed for 86 yards with two passing touchdowns and added two more scores on the ground. He was named the NIKE MVP on offense. On defense, Ry Reed had six solo tackles with five assists with one kickoff returned for a touchdown to capture the NIKE MVP Defensive award. Both Reeds are brothers.
