(Lyford, Texas)-Just call it pure defense as the Lyford Bulldogs (1-0) held on to defeat the Port Isabel Tarpons (0-1) in overtime 13-12 in non-conference play. The Bulldogs played three quarters of football before a sellout crowd with the score tied 6-6 after four quarters play. Head coach Jerry JAUREGUI said it best for his Bulldog team. “We played a great game tonight,” said JAUREGUI. 
The Tarpons (0-1) will play travel to play defending 16-3A DI Champions, Rio Hondo Bobcats (1-0) on Thursday night while Lyford will play host to La Villa on Thursday night. (HSSMImages/LYFORDISD)
