(Arlington, Texas)-After thirty-nine years, the Jayton Jaybirds will be bringing back it’s University Interscholastic League State 1A Division II Six-Man title after defeating Oakwood 54-8 under the “mercy rule”. The game ended at halftime at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The NIKE Defensive Most Valuable Player was Colt Gentry and the Offensive MVP award went to Sean Stanaland. He passed for 102 yards with two rushing touchdowns and two passing TDs. Gentry had four solo tackles with two assisted tackles. He also returned a fumble for a 72-yard touchdown.
