(Los Fresnos, Texas)-In the McDonald’s Game of the Week, the Los Fresnos Falcons (5-1) ended their non-conference schedule with a huge win over Sharyland (3-3) by winning 70-33 on Homecoming Friday Night at Leo Aguilar Sr. Memorial Stadium. “This was a big win for our program. We will take the week off and get ready for District 32-6A,” says David Cantu, Los Fresnos head football coach. The Falcons will play San Benito on October 18th in their district opener while the Rattlers will host Mission Veterans in District 15-5A Division II showdown. Both games are set for 7:00 p.m. kickoffs.

Falcons quarterback Robert Pineda passed for 172 yards with two scores and also rushed 15 times for 217 yards and six touchdowns. He was absolutely superb on Homecoming night. Falcons teammate RB/WR standout Josh Limoncellos had a big night too. He returned a kickoff for 72-yards for a touchdown. Defensively, Linebackers Cade Stumbaugh picked off Sharyland QB Calvin Harris and had a season high of 12 tackles. Also adding a pick was LB Ryan Prepejchal. Harris still managed to pass for 372 yards and four touchdowns. “We will not stop Harris. He’s a good quarterback. Our plan was to contain him,” added Cantu.
