(Brownsville, Texas)-Brownsville Lopez (4-1) picked up their fourth win of the season over winless Hidalgo (0-5) on Thursday night winning 28-14. Lobos quarterback Guadalupe Ramirez passed for 267 yards completing 20-of-28 passes and three touchdowns. He now has passed for 1,292 yards with 17 touchdowns. The Lobos will take the week off and will open District 16-5A DII on the road Thursday night October 10th against the PSJA Southwest Javelinas. The Pirates had only 34 players dressed out for the game. “We are continuing to build our program in my first season,” says first-year Pirate head football coach, Jason Wheeler. “We also are watching our JV numbers going up too. We have more than 45 players.” Last year, the Pirates finished 0-10. District 16-4A Division I kicks off October 11th at Tuloso-Midway.
