(Harlingen, Texas)-On Friday night, Harlingen South head softball coach Jose Rios knew that plenty was on the line, especially the District 32-5A title as the Lady Hawks (23-2, 16-0) downed Brownsville Lopez (21-2, 14-2) 10-0 in six innings.
Entering Friday night’s game, the Lady Hawks flexed its wings with 48 homers to date along with 247 RBIs. Big numbers and those numbers came alive on gamely. Harlingen South’s junior pitcher Lexi Sandoval (13-0) went six innings with six strikeouts and six walks while University of Washington commit, Hawks junior third baseman Amira Rodriguez had a big night with seven RBIs l, including backstop home run. Rodriguez went 4-4 on the night.
