District 15-5A DI: Vela Continues Roll, Bites McHi…

(Edinburg, Texas)-The Edinburg Vela Sabercats (6-1, 3-1) downed the McAllen Bulldogs (5-2, 2-2) in District 15-5A Division I winning 42-20 at Richard R. Flores Stadium on Friday night. The Sabercats will travel to meet winless La Joya Juarez-Lincoln (0-7, 0-4) on Thursday night while the Bulldogs will play La Joya Palmview (2-5, 0-4) at home on Friday.
It was those costly turnovers that plagued the Bulldogs (3 turnovers) and of course, the four touchdowns scored by Vela Sabercats RB Jamal Polley. He also rushed for 223 yards. On the opening kickoff, WR Jaxson Shupe returned the ball 80-yards for Vela to put the Sabercats up 7-0 in the first quarter. (HSSMImages/Flores)
