(Donna, Texas)-“We just keep getting better every week,” says PSJA Memorial head football coach, Will Littleton. For the fourth straight week, the Wolverines (4-0) captured another non-conference win over previously undefeated, Donna North (3-1) winning 52-21 on Thursday night in the High School Sports Magazine’s Featured Game of the Week at Bennie La Prade Stadium. The Wolverines will now meet Valley View (1-3) on Friday night at Tiger Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
PSJA Memorial QB junior Ryan Reyna just keeps getting better every week too. On Thursday night, Reyna connect with WR Robert Moralez for three touchdown passes from 22, 28, and 40-yards to get his team to 4-0 for the season.
The Chiefs, coming off a win over winless Brownsville Porter did manage to keep its offense moving behind the running of Chiefs junior running back Marc Ibarra, who scored two touchdowns on the night. But, it was the Wolverines who pounded the turf too with running backs Miguel Resendiz and Emiliano Cortazar. Resendiz had touchdown runs of 5, 18 yards with 105 yards rushing while Cortazar rushed for another 152 yards and one score.
