(Edinburg, Texas)-At Richard R. Flores stadium, the widow, Estelle, of the legendary Edinburg Bobcats head coach Richard R. Flores was honored, surrounded by friends and family members at the annual Rio Grande Valley Coaches Association’s All-Star Football game on Saturday night as both East and West senior football players showed their support.

It was a battle to the end. Brownsville Hanna Eagles running back, Kriz Pena, a 2022 Blue-Grey All- American, celebrated the East win over the West with a running back flip as they won 10-9.
With less than 2:00 minutes to play, West QB, McAllen Memorial’s JP Cortez spotted McAllen Nikki Rowe WR Nelson Ramirez for a 55-yard score to make it 10-9. Not done, the West All-Stars opted to go for the win and East Raymondville’s Linebacker Hunter Posas stopped the winning two-point conversion attempt to give the East All-Stars the win.

La Feria Justin Rodriguez put the East up 10-3 late in the fourth quarter after both teams were tied 3-3 with less than four minutes to play.
