(Corpus Christi, Texas)-The San Benito Greyhounds (11-1) will be playing on Thanksgiving weekend after defeating San Antonio Taft (9-3) 38-19 on Thursday night at Buccaneer Stadium in Corpus Christi in the Class 6A Division I Area Championships. With the win, the Greyhounds will play defending UIL 6A DI State Champions (11-0) or New Braunfels (8-3).
On Thursday night, Greyhounds junior running back 5’7 Gardiel Garcia (1,878 yards rushing ) scored on touchdown runs of 19, 66, 61, 20, including two more runs of 42, 19 to lead the Greyhounds. Garcia would finish the night eclipsing the 2,000 yard rushing mark.
