(Weslaco, Texas)-The Weslaco Panthers scored 21 points in the second half as they defeated Edinburg 21-3 in non-district action at Richard R. Flores Stadium. With the win, the Panthers stays undefeated at 3-0 while the Bobcats drops to 1-2. ”We need to start fast and finish fast,” head coach Roy Stroman told his Weslaco Panther team. ”I’m proud of how we played in the second half. Great job.”

The Edinburg Bobcats dominated the first half, by taking a 3-0 lead over the Panthers. In the second half, things just turned sour. ”We need to play much better and eliminate the mistakes,” said Bobcat head coach Rene Guzman. The Bobcats, on the Panther kickoff which landed deep inside the ten-yard line, the Bobcats did not field the live pigskin that came to a stop around the five-yard line. The Panthers fell on the ball. Next play, the Weslaco Panthers took its first lead of the night 7-3 and never looked back. Panther quarterback Andres Silva sealed the win with his 62-yard run up the middle to put the game out if reach 21-3 with 6:02 left to play.
