(Corpus Christi, Texas)-With 26:07 left in half, 32-5A Brownsville Porter HS Andy Hinojosa went one on one to score and give the 2016 University Interscholastic League 5A champions, Porter Cowboys (24-2-2) the only goal they needed to fend off a feisty Georgetown Eagles (17-4-7) team 2-0 in the UIL State 5A Region IV Semifinals on Friday at Cabaniss Field in Corpus Christi, Texas. With the win, Cowboys will play 26-5A Dripping Springs (24-3) in the UIL State 5A Quarterfinals on Saturday at 12:00 noon. The winner will advance to the state tournament next week. “This was our first game ever with Georgetown,” said Porter head coach Jose Espitia. “They were great on defense.” The 25-5A Eagles did not had a shot to goal and managed only four corner kicks.
