(San Antonio, Texas)-The two-time defending UIL Champions, Austin Westlake (13-0) extended their win streak to 37 games as they defeated PSJA North 56-0 in the Class 6A Division II Regional Championships on Saturday at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The Chaps will now play Vandegrift (12-1) at Royal-Memorial Stadium on December 4th at 2:00p.m. “I’m so proud of this team,” said Westlake head football coach, Todd Dodge.

Clemson bound, Chaps QB Cade Klubnik passed for 234 yards and five touchdowns in the first half to put the Chaps up 42-0 with sophomore RB Jack Kayser breaking loose for 88-yards and he also had two catches for 46 yards to lead their team. Four-star recruit, offensive linemen TJ Shanahan (6’6 305lbs) helped lead his offense with more than 500 yards in total offense on Saturday.

PSJA North HS running back Issac Gonzalez ended his season by rushing for 123 yards on 14 carries to finish with 1,756 yards in 2021. He finished his career with 5,375 yards with the 10-3 Raiders.

With more than 8,000 fans in attendance, the Raiders watched the Chaps score in their first six possessions to take a 42-0 lead at the half. “We did everything that we could against Westlake,’ said Raider head football coach, Marcus Kaufmann. “They are a very good football team.” Defensively, the Raiders ended their year with an impressive 35.5 quarterback sacks with senior Justin Ledesma leading the team with 5.5 sacks and sophomore Daniel Garcia collecting another 5.0 sacks this season. Senior Cris Archer had 30 solo tackles this season and led the team with 86 tackles. “We will be back next year,” added Kaufmann. “Now, our team knows what they have to do in the offseason.
