(Hidalgo, Texas)-At Bill Pate Stadium in Hidalgo, the Mission Eagles (4-2, 3-1) found a way to win by converting a two-point conversion and then blocked a 38-yard field attempt with 1:34 left to play to defeat the PSJA Bears 42-41. Eagles QB Kevin Guerra put his team in the mix with a touchdown late in the forth quarter and then first-year head football coach Daniel Longoria decided to go for the win and it paid off, with Guerra plunging in to make it 42-41on a two point conversion. Still, the Bears never showed defeat with sophomore quarterback Jaime Lopez finding WR Viggio Lopez for a 50-yard pass to put the Bears in field goal range. Lopez finished the game with three rushing scores and three touchdown passes despite the loss. (HSSMImages)
