(Edinburg, Texas)-At Richard R. Flores Stadium, the PSJA North Raiders (5-1, 3-1) marched past the Edinburg Bobcats (3-4, 3-2) 42-0 on Thursday night to remain in second place in District 31-6A. Head coach Marcus Kaufmann was pleased with his team’s performance. “We just have to remain focused. We still have plenty of games to play,” says Kaufmann. The Raiders have outscored their last three opponents 142-0 and allowed a total of 140 yards of total offense against their opponents. “Our defense led by Zac Gonzalez had one interception along with two more turnovers caused by the Raiders. This group is together all the time. These guys are fun to be with, they are committed,” says Kaufmann.

Three Raider running backs all went over the hundred-yard rushing mark with senior FB Jack Lugo scoring two touchdowns on 110 yards while senior RB Issac Gonzalez added another score with 120 yards, with sophomore Jason Montez finding the end zone for two scores and 105 yards rushing.

The Raiders will play crosstown rivals, PSJA (3-2, 2-1) next Friday night while the Bobcats will try to end their two game losing streak by traveling to play La Joya (1-4, 0-3) in order to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Bobcats have been outscored 90-7 in the last two games. (HSSMImages)
