(Pharr, Texas)-“He’s done,” says PSJA North head football coach, Marcus Kaufmann. “It’s a tough loss for our program.” The PSJA North Raiders (2-1, 0-1) will travel to play La Joya (1-3, 0-2) tonight at PACK Stadium without sophomore quarterback, Ale Aparicio. He sustained a fractured collar bone against Edinburg Vela two weeks ago.

Both teams will need a win tonight if they expect to stay in the playoff hunt in 31-6A. “It’s a tough district,” says La Joya head coach, Reuben Farias. “Our prayers goes out to their quarterback. Hope he gets better.” The Coyotes are coming off a 69-7 loss to the Edinburg Vela Sabercats and a victory tonight will keep the Coyotes in the hunt for a playoff spot.

The Raiders will need to find a way to replace their quarterback. The Raiders will have to rely on RBs Jack Lugo, Issac Gonzalez, and sophomore Jason Montez. “These guys are our leaders out on the field,” says Kaufmann. “We do have two quarterbacks, but we will see on Friday night what happens.”
